Duty Database
The Duty Database makes it easy to check import duty rates using either a product description or tariff code. If you don't know the correct tariff code or country-specific product description, the search function helps you identify the most suitable match before calculating your landed costs.
As a comprehensive Customs Tariff Database, the tool supports tariff code lookup, HS code lookup, commodity code lookup and customs tariff lookup, helping you research products and compare classifications across international markets.
If you want to calculate the landed cost of an item, simply select Calculate Duty. The selected product is automatically transferred to the Duty Calculator, allowing you to continue without entering the same information twice.
Getting Started
When you open the Duty Database, you'll be presented with the search screen shown below.
Select the destination country, then enter either a tariff code or a product description to begin your search.
The search results display all products within the same 6-digit HS Code. In the example below, the HS Code is 650500.
Although the first six digits are internationally standardised, many countries apply additional digits to create more detailed product classifications. Comparing these descriptions helps you identify the most appropriate product classification before calculating duties.
Once you've identified the correct product, select Calculate Duty.
The selected product information automatically populates the Duty Calculator, so you don't need to remember or re-enter the tariff code or description.
You can then continue using the Duty Calculator to calculate the landed cost of your goods, including applicable import duties and taxes.
Why Use the Duty Database?
Finding the correct tariff code isn't always straight forward, particularly when product descriptions differ between countries. The Duty Database provides a quicker way to carry out tariff code lookup by searching with either a tariff code or a product description.
The integrated HS code lookup helps identify products within the correct international classification, while the commodity code lookup allows you to compare country-specific descriptions where classifications differ beyond the standard six-digit HS Code.
Combined with accurate customs tariff lookup and current import duty rates, the tool helps businesses research products, prepare quotations and understand import costs before goods are shipped.
Whether you're researching a new product or reviewing an existing supply chain, the Duty Database provides practical information that supports more accurate tariff classification and pricing.
